in Las Vegas.
Alot of people are familar with round robins in Las Vegas, but don't know how they pay or how much they pay if you win
all of the teams. Below I will list the breakdown of what your investment would be at $5.00 a way and what your maximum payoff
would be if you won all of your games. I will go into further explantion below the chart.

$40.00 $3040. As you can see, the investment can get costly, but the payoffs are pretty good too. If you
were to select 8 teams and play all the combinations, it would cost $1235.00. If all 8 teams won you would get a return around
$21,854.00
The 3 team round robin consists of three two team parlays and one three team parlay. To play this one costs $20.00
at $5.00 per way. You can just play two's if you want for $15.00. The chart shows us how much you win if all the teams win,
but what if you just win two of your games and lose one. The payout would be the same which ever way you played it. ($13.00
plus your $5.00 back returns $18.00) If you played two's and three's, you would lose $2.00. If you just played two's, you
would come out $3.00 ahead. You must win two out of three to get any return. Winning all three gets you $89.00 back
for a $20.00 investment. Four team round robins get a little more complicated. You have the option to play two's,
three's and four. There is 11 bets involved. you can play just two's or just three's. If you played just four, that is a four
team parlay only. Best case scenario is you win all four and collect $303.00 for a $55.00 investment. Second case scenario
is winning three out of four. In this case, you would win three two teamers and one three teamer. You would get paid $18.00
times 3 for a total of $54.00 and $35.00 for the three teamer. A total of $89.00 would leave you a profit of $34.00 for
a $55.00 investment. If you only win two games, then your return is $18.00 for a net loss of $37.00 Winning less
than two games in either circumstance above doesn't return anything. You can see by the chart above, that you can
get creative using round robin bets. Mike Hillin
Key Parlays A key parlay is betting one team with several other teams.
Your key team must win, or you lose the whole ticket. You usually can play up to seven teams with your key on one ticket.
Seven teams at $5.00 a way would cost you $35.00. If you won all seven games plus your key at -$1.10 odds, your return would
be 7 times 18 for a payout of $126.00. Basically, you must win your key team with at least two other teams to drive a profit
of $1.00. Every win after that is adding 18.00 to your payout. The three worst case scenarios with this bet is losing your key team and winning the other seven,
or winning your key team and losing the other seven, or losing your key team. Baseball
is the most lucrative sport to play this wager because of the many money line dogs that win almost daily.
Parlays and parlay cards Sports books vary to how many teams you can bet off the board. Everyone allows six, and there are several
that allow up to eight teams. Parlay cards come out everywhere for football season. You can pick up to 10 games, if you pick
ten, just remember your true odds of hitting one is 1024 to 1. Payoffs range from 600 to 1 up to 850 to one depending on the
type of card your playing. You can even bet reverse lines for larger payouts if you want. Teaser cards are also available,
but make sure you read the fine print. Alot of those cards have a ties lose in their rules. I would suggest passing on these
as there are better cards out there. Here are some of the parlay payouts in Las Vegas. Eastside Cannery, Palms, South Point | OFF THE BOARD | | PARLAY

Teaser Bets Teaser bets are offered by almost all sports books here and let you add or subtract from 6 to 7 points
off of the point spread. The payouts are much lower than parlay payouts. If you pick alot of winners straight up, then shaving
some points off a favorite or adding some to an underdog may be your cup of tea. Money line bets are comparable to teasers
if your teasing a team down to a pick em game. I'll get more into the money line bet in the next section. here are some teaser
odds to look at. | PRO FOOTBALL TEASER
ODDS | | TEAMS | 6 POINTS | 6.5 POINTS | 7 POINTS | | 2 | 5 TO 6 | 10 TO 13 | 5 TO 7 | | 3 | 8 TO 5 | 7 TO 5 | 6 TO 5 | | 4 | 5 TO 2 | 12 TO 5 | 2 TO 1 | | 5 | 9 TO 2 | 4 TO 1 | 7 TO 2 | | 6 | 7 TO 1 | 6 TO 1 | 5 TO 1 | | 7 | 9 TO 1 | 8 TO 1 | 13 TO 2 | | 8 | 12 TO 1 | 10 TO 1 | 9 TO 1 |
In
the first regular season game, Green Bay is favored by 5 points over New Orleans. You can tease Green Bay down to +1 or +2
or you can tease the Saints up from +5 to +11 or +12. When teasing two teams by 6 points, you have to lay $1.20 to win a dollar
or $12.00 to win $10.00. If you teased each game by 7 points, you would lay $1.40 to win a dollar.
Money Line Bets When you take a team on the moneyline, your paying extra to bet the favorite straight up. There is alot
of value in money line dogs and there is always a play every week. In fact, I had 11 winning weeks out of 17 playing money
line dogs. Here is a couple of examples in comparison to the point spread. Green
Bay-5 costs $11.00 to win $10.00 Green Bay money line costs $24.50 to win $10.00 New Orleans+5 costs $11.00 to win $10.00 New Orleans money
line pays $21.00 for a $10.00 bet The last example makes money line bets very appealing
and if you can find three or four of them and stick them in a round robin, you could get a very nice payday. The best way
to play these bets are straight up. If you win two or three of them, you will show a profit. If you parlay them and have only
one loss, you waste the other two or three games that won. Money line favorites
cut your parlay payoffs, but can pay more than a teaser or vice versa. When playing these type of bets, check out the difference
of the point spread and winning straight up. You may get more of a payoff by comparing the two, and you might actually be
getting extra points instead of a straight up bet. You can ask most sports book writers to give you a payoff both ways before
betting. Here is a couple of examples for using a conversion chart
to figure your parlay bet payoff when betting money lines Amount
bet= $10.00 money line -2.50 conversion .4000 money line -1.50 conversion 0.667 add 1 to each conversion
figure Equation is $10.00 x 1.4 x 1.667= 23.39 Here
is how a money line dog parlay would be calculated Wager $10.00 Dog#1+2.10 Dog#2 +2.50 Equation
$10.00 x 2.1 x 2.5= $52.50 As you can see it is a pretty basic calculation, but if
your betting 6 or 8 teams mixed with money line favorites and money line dogs, it can get fairly lengthy.
Hedge Bets Hedge bets work by playing your last game in a later time slot. Alot of bettors in Las Vegas that play
parlays, usually set up one game to hedge. Hedging is covering your original bet by playing the otherside of the last game
if you have won all your other games on a ticket. Sunday and Monday night games
make hedging easy during football season. Some drawbacks are lines that change in the houses favor prevent you from risking
a hedge. If you played the dog on the last game, and you want to try and middle your bet, you may be forced to lay more than
it's worth to do it. If you have a 6 or 8 team parlay, you will probably try to cover half the payoff. I can't say that is
a bad idea, I have had several parlays that lost because of the last game. There
are two other strategies you can use. If your playing a 6 or 8 teamer, play a 5 or 7 teamer with it for the same amount, so
when all but the last game is in you have a return. This should also pay for your hedge bet if you choose to do so. An example
of this would be: 6 team parlay $10.00 at 40-1= $400.00 5 team parlay $10.00 at 20-1=$200.00 This sure beats laying $200.00 out
of your own pocket. It's like saving $190.00 of your own money. Another way is to
play two 6 team parlays and just play both sides of the last game on two separate cards. I
like to set up a hedge parlay by playing the favorite on the money line as the last game. You have at least two games to choose
from and if they are too expensive, look at 5 or 7 teams in the morning with a late evening game. By playing the last game
as a money line favorite, you have the chance to middle (win) both bets with points on one side and straight up action on
the other. Your payoff may not be as much, but it shouldn't vary alot if you are only playing one money line. Here is an example
of one of my parlays last year. Sunday Games-$10.00 Parlay Kansas City+3 win Green Bay-13.5 win Chicago+7.5
win St. Louis+3.5 win San Diego-7 win Monday Night New Orleans-money line -265 Hedged San Francisco+6 at -110 Final score: New Orleans 25 San Francisco 22 The 6 teamer paid about 35 to 1 instead of 40 to 1, but the $165.00 hedge on San Francisco netted a
profit of $150.00. So by winning both bets netted me 507.50..thats better than the 40 to 1 payoff. If the Saints would have
covered that game, my profit would have been $192.50 and if the 49ers would have won out right, my profit would have been
$140.00
